Our dispatchers are asked several times a day, what are examples of emergency calls? Here are examples of what
would constitute an emergency or non-emergency call.
Examples of emergency calls: (9-1-1)
In progress crimes
House/structure fire
A person has been shot
Bank/business robbery
Burglary in progress just occurred
Someone is having a heart attack
Traffic accident with injuries involved
Life threatening condition and medical aid is needed
Examples of non-emergency calls: (782-7400)
Loud party or music
Parking violations
Barking dog
Road information
My car was towed. How do I get it back?
The traffic light is broken
I scraped my knee
Non-injury traffic accidents
Time delayed reports with no suspect information
